Serena came in knowing she wanted a stacked look but wasn’t exactly sure where. The first thing I noticed was a gap between her first and second lobe piercings, and when I pointed it out, she was like, yes, she’d noticed it too—so that’s what we decided to work with. I mapped out a placement that worked with her anatomy (which was super open in the back), giving us the perfect space to make this happen. Since this is jewelry she wears every day—and she loves her huggies—I made sure everything would flow perfectly, no matter how she switches things up. To tie it all together, I went with chunky, classic Beaded pieces to complement her bold gemstone jewelry. I also noticed her black spinel end was sagging a bit, so I upsized her post and downsized the piece to keep it snug and secure. Little tweaks like this make a huge difference in how jewelry wears over time. She was ecstatic with how it all turned out—and honestly, so was I. I love when clients trust the process and let me do my thing. It’s humbling and such an honor to create these looks, and I feel so lucky to do what I love every day. Thank you 🙏🏽

OMG, Bri and I had so much fun picking out the perfect jewelry to match her bubbly, gorgeous personality! 🫧 She originally wanted something big and bold—don’t worry, we have plenty of that! But after talking through her style, what she loves, and how she wanted to feel wearing her piece, we landed on this Chained Alpha 08 from @tetherjewelry. And honestly? It couldn’t have been more perfect. It’s just the right size—not so big that it takes over her face (which can be a look, but not for everyone). The textured detail around the high-polish center catches the light every time she moves, which is perfect because she’s such an expressive talker. That little dangle? It not only gives her another reason to show off her gorgeous face 😍 but also moves just enough to grab your attention and give a subtle hoop effect. She thought her piercing was closed since it had been empty for years, but with a little tissue manipulation and some patience, we got it open—no repiercing needed! Now she gets to feel 100% in just a few weeks instead of waiting a whole year. I always check to see if we can reopen old piercings if the placement is still good—it’s such a game changer when it works! Had an absolute blast with you, doll. See you in a few weeks! 💋

Swapped her clicker for a dainty solid gold seam ring. Upgraded the chunky piece to that stunning Daniella Dangle. Pierced her conch with the Mini Valentina. Added a little stacked lobe between her 1st and 2nd for an extra touch of cuteness. Can’t wait for our next session in about 8–12 months—giving everything time to heal, including a couple of others she’s already working on! Trust me, you don't want to get into a vicious cycle of upsizing and downsizing because you waited too long. STATIM maintenance days are just one small piece of what it takes to keep Tru running. This past week has been full of incredible interactions that reminded me why I started Tru: to create a space where people feel safe, celebrated, and cared for. I regret not realizing sooner how powerful building a community could be, but I’m so grateful to see it taking shape now. I also have to give a huge thank-you to Bridge. I’m so glad her crazy ass walked in on her lunch break that one day—the rest is history, and I couldn’t imagine doing this without her. Tru has never been about cutting corners. This client was in town to grab some wings at a place called Wayne’s Wings—which, seriously, how have I never heard of this place?! She decided to treat herself before lunch and walked in while me, @ozbri, and @stabbedbymars were all here. It was so much fun figuring out what to do together! We added a double mid-ear piercing set and a stacked lobe to fill in some space, and I couldn’t be more excited about the plans we’re dreaming up for her next steps. It’s always such a blast figuring out how to bring your ideas to life. 🙏🏽 It’s been such an amazing week at the studio.
