Vanessa Tru (Lead Piercer & Owner)

Meet Vanessa, the owner and lead piercer at Tru Piercings. Vanessa has been piercing since 2012, starting with an apprenticeship at a local street shop. She worked her way up, continuously refining her skills to create the unique boutique experience that Tru Piercings is known for today.

Vanessa is known for her gentle touch and friendly approach. Clients often say she’s the easiest piercer they’ve ever had, and that’s exactly what she aims for—making each piercing a comfortable and enjoyable experience. She loves guiding people through the process, from selecting jewelry to taking that final deep breath.

Vanessa’s passion for jewelry started early—her Nana used to call her a “Christmas Tree” because she always stacked on as much jewelry as possible. Now, she’s all about curating dainty looks with chains, charms, and lots of personality.

When she’s not piercing, Vanessa is busy being a mom to her daughter, who is the light of her life. She also shares the dream of Tru Piercings with her partner, Richard, who runs the tattoo side of things at Prestige Collective Tattoo. Together, they opened their doors four years ago—right on track with their goal of doing it by the time they turned 30!

Bridge Ozuna (Professional Piercer & Stylist)

Meet Bridge, our resident piercer with a decade of experience from South Texas. Since starting their journey in 2014, Bridge has embraced the challenges of the piercing world, turning them into opportunities for growth and creativity. They love helping clients express themselves through body modification and creating personalized experiences that truly reflect individual styles.

Bridge is all about the process of piercing—it's not just about the end result but the journey clients take. They believe every client walks away feeling empowered and ready to rock their new look. Known for their flair for maximalist styles, Bridge enjoys working with chunky gold, gemstones, chains, and charms. They also love doing big, bold piercings with titanium jewelry and take particular joy in nose curations and oral piercings.

When Bridge isn’t busy with piercings, you can find them running around making content for the shop. If you see them with a camera, there’s a good chance you might end up featured on our socials! A natural talker, Bridge loves connecting with clients, but they can also create a chill atmosphere for those who prefer a quieter appointment. And for Spanish-speaking clients, ¡habla Español!
